Sitec are approved installers and distributors of the Award Winning new quietrevolution Vertical Axis Wind Turbine.
The QR5 is a beautiful and innovative wind turbine designed to work well in the urban environment, where wind directions change frequently and quiet, vibration free operation is critical.
The design arises from a combination of sound engineering principles and state-of-the-art aerospace technology.
The result is a truly stunning and visually engaging product that is easy to integrate within a range of environments and buildings. The turbine has an output of up to 7,500 kWh per year (site wind dependant).
How it works
The QR system is beautiful, innovative and clever! (See the QR5 wind turbine diagram). The 3 blade helix design has a built in ultrasonic anemometer which allows the control system to monitor the windspeed. When sufficient wind is detected is sends an instruction to the turbine to start up. The turbine’s active controls set the revolutions to the optimal speed for the available. In the event of excessive windspeeds the control system safely parks the rotor.
The variable power that the turbine generates is passed through the control electronics and converted to three phase AC with constant voltage and frequency suitable for grid connection and on site use.
The electricity produced by the turbine will supply local usage therefore offsetting requirement from the grid and reducing electricity bills. If the output of the turbine exceeds local usage then the surplus is exported to the grid. The Feed in Tariff is payable for every kW of energy generated whether used on site or exported.
