Huawei Announces 5G Training Programme for UK Technology Partners

Huawei, the leading information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has confirmed its commitment to provide 5G training to its key UK partners as the latest step in its campaign to drive knowledge and innovation around the upcoming 5G ecosystem across the UK.

At the Huawei UK Partner Convention held on 17th May in central London, Huawei signed an official memorandum of understanding (MOU) with their UK partners across multiple sectors.

The MOU, which includes both deployment and 5G training for partners, builds on Huawei’s commitment to procure £3bn from UK businesses over the next five years and is evidence of the significance of the UK’s digital market.

Baroness Fairhead, Minister of State for the Department for International Trade, said:

“The UK is a world leader in developing innovative technology. This government is determined that British businesses should continue to build on the growing global opportunities provided by technological advancements.

The Department for International Trade will continue to help UK companies in the tech sector, such as those who will benefit from this deal with Huawei, to forge new trading ties that will boost exports, investment and provide jobs to every part of our country.”

Mr Yao Fuhai, Huawei Board Director and Chief Supply Chain Officer, said: “Huawei is committed to supporting the growth of communities and industries by ensuring that we all move forward together to a better connected, intelligent world.”

The conference is the fifth annual partner convention from Huawei which celebrate the importance of its partnerships, and celebrate the ability of collaboration to drive quality.

The MoU will support firms including SITEC, in the rollout of superfast broadband technology. Partners will receive full training on the deployment of 5G equipment, as well as supportive smart tools and regular progress meetings during the rollout.

Huawei EE L800 Upgrade – Kent Institute of Art & Design

This particular upgrade of the Kent Institute of Art & Design Rooftop site involved working closely with the Institute. The principal scope was for a full antenna swap with new feeders + a new Eltek PSU install. Its successful completion has now enabled L800 connectivity within December deadlines.

EE Huawei Power Resilience Project

This project is for the upgrade of selected sites for:

Conversion of power supply to the Huawei equipment from AC to -48V DC with a battery supply included.This includes the replacement of AC powered kit with -48V powered equipment.This is achieved by installing a new Emerson M35 from which to get the DC power supply.

Generator specification options: Q35 model connected to an alarm system which is linked to EE/MBNL.

The triggering of alarms determines the status/requirement  of/for  the generator.

The completion of this site has now enabled this site to be operating, even when the REC power supply is interrupted.
